Remain well-informed of all regulatory laws and developments.
Responsible for maintaining a current library of DOT / Governance regulations, for providing the necessary expertise, guidance, and training.
Responsibilities for the ongoing development, continued implementation and regular review of the programs, policies/procedures, and oversight reporting.
Management and compliance oversight of Driver Qualification Files (DQF)
Recordkeeping and compliance monitoring requirements of driver log books.
Management and compliance oversight of Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIR), annual inspections, planned maintenance and other processes associated with vehicle condition.
Management and delivery of Hours of Service and Driver Safety training.
Management and compliance oversight of Drug and Alcohol testing.
Management and compliance oversight of accident monitoring, including CSA BASIC.
Build a compliance database and visibility mechanisms for 8,000+ vehicles and drivers under DOT regulations.
Work with database to generate reports and compliance measures.
Create scorecard by Country for use in Ops Reviews.
Identify high risk areas and oversee remediation.
Assess information from third party providers. Consult with Legal, Human Resources, and Global / Country Security Office on driver and motor vehicle records matters.
Establish a “certification” program to drive visibility and sustainability of compliant DOT practices.
Audit records to assure completeness and accuracy
A minimum of 15 years’ progressive fleet management / regulatory compliance experience.
A minimum of 10 years of supervisory and management responsibility.
Thorough knowledge of DOT regulations thorough knowledge of DOT, OSHA, PHMSA, EPA, and related safety regulations.
Certified Director of Safety certification preferred; also experience with Workers' Compensation.
Proven operational and technical expertise in all aspects of fleet regulatory compliance.
Familiar with dispatch, operations and the transportation industry.
Have knowledge specifically about Materials of Trade.
Excellent PC skills including: Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and data base management
Experience leading cross-functional teams
